Excess Soils Regulations/Liquid Soils

At Landshark Environmental, we recognize the challenges project managers face with Ontario Regulation 406/19: On-site and Excess Soil Management. The regulation guides handling excavated soil and crushed rock on-site, as well as the reuse and disposal of excess soil and liquid soils generated during construction projects.

Our team manages these challenges head-on, using our innovative Landshark Solidification processing unit to mix a high-slump material (slurry) with a minimal amount of a dry product,

transforming it into a low-slump, solid material. Once this mixture is transformed, it becomes easier to handle and dispose of safely as a “solid.”

Our unit operates continuously rather than in batches to maximize outputs for large remediation projects. With Landshark solidification, you can enjoy reduced disposal costs, increased re-use opportunities, and a partner who puts sustainability first.

Test Pitting

Landshark Environmental test pitting services include hand digging, machine digging, and air suction excavation capabilities to uncover crucial subsurface information. We specialize in environmental test pits for delineation and subsurface geotechnical investigation for footing confirmation. We help clients sample, test, and analyze subsurface materials such as soil, rock, and groundwater and create detailed logs documenting the composition of your project site’s subsurface layers.

To protect our clients and team with a secure work environment, we use complete shoring installations when entrance is required in an area greater than 47” deep.

Excavation

At Landshark Environmental, we offer clean and responsible vac truck services to swiftly move contaminated materials from your site and minimize project disruptions. Once we excavate the soil, it’s transported to MOECC-licensed facilities for proper disposal, meeting all Canadian and Ontario environmental regulations.

Once the contaminated soil is removed, our team of experts will restore your site with clean fill, ensuring all soil is properly compacted for trustworthy, safe surface restoration. Our

experienced, licensed operators use excavators, backhoes, skid steers, and more to move soil under the guidance of experienced project managers and field staff.

Hydro Excavation Services

At Landshark Environmental, we use advanced hydro vac excavation technology to take the guesswork out of your environmental and subsurface projects. Our fleet of 14 Canadian hydrovac and air excavators can handle a wide range of air or water excavation services. We offer a comprehensive list of services expertly handled by our team, including trenching anode and shoring installation, boreholes, pole hole excavation, curb box replacements, plume delineation, gas distribution, water distribution, underground chambers, tree root protection, and tank clean-outs.

Our team ensures precision and minimal disruption, including careful tree root protection using minimally invasive excavation methods.

We go far beyond digging and hydroexcavation with complete coring services up to 18 inches, along with backfill and core reinstatement services for a clean, seamless finish.

Drilling Investigation and Waste T&D

Drilling Investigation Waste (DIW) is the water, soil, and cuttings generated during geotechnical or environmental site investigations. At Landshark Environmental, we’re happy to deal with potentially contaminated waste that must be managed and removed safely and with full legal compliance at the provincial and federal levels. Enjoy a simplified process with our turnkey DIW drilling waste management and hydrovac waste solutions.

We reduce the administrative hassle with an all-in-one drilling and waste management service. Our experts provide cradle-to-grave bulk and drum waste management, including RPRA registration, manifesting, transportation, and disposal across Ontario. Our drum, crane, and roll-off truck fleet offers same-day drum pick-up and Hiab cranes that can access any drum in any location – even those that are hard to reach.

Our drum services include less than truckload (LTL) and full truckload pick-up, while our bulk services include soil bins, frac tanks, dump trucks, hydro-X, and vacuum trucks.
